Personality:

 - Independent and Stubborn: Alun is not one to be changed by others, his opinions, lifestyle, behavior, and actions are his own. He will hold his ground when tested, refusing to bend no matter the obstacle. He refused to stop traveling at the strong urging of his father and other family members, and will show the same steadiness in his decisions no matter what. Threats have little to no effect on this steady and powerful stallion, he will trounce them himself or die trying.
 - Honest and Responsible: This palomino is nothing if not a genuine and moralistic soul. He’s fair and attempts to be upright and do what he believes is right. Notably humble, Alun is dependable and is determined to follow through with what he decides to do.
 - Loyal: Alun is extremely loyal to those in his family. He would do nearly anything to be there for his family, he's finally beginning to understand the many sacrifices his family made for him when he was born and wants to pay this back tenfold. He feels the same way about any who have shown themselves to be there for him.
 - Adventurous: The cob is very prone to enjoying excitement in his life. He loves to see new things and hear new stories. Not the largest risk taker ever, Alun draws the line if he feels like he’s going into danger for no reason.
 - Reserved: Alun often has a hard time connecting deeply with those around him, unless he spends a lot of time around them. Having been raised in a business-like environment, Alun is able to put on an appearance of being a friendly merchant even if he isn’t the most social by nature.
 - Explosive: Usually a relatively easy-going and likeable merchant, Alun often keeps his cool. It takes Alun to hit a certain point to get truly angry, if equines don’t know him, it can be hard to calculate how he actually feels. The palomino’s anger builds slowly, little things adding to his anger until he suddenly snaps, exploding in a violent outburst, usually verbal, though depending on the situation, he can become a terrifying force.
 - Cheerful and Compassionate: Though this behavior is typically suppressed around those he doesn't know, Alun is surprisingly light-hearted around others. He enjoys the company of his loved ones and attempts to be a bright light the best he can. Alun tends to lean towards a surprisingly optimistic disposition. Alun deeply cares for others, especially those he deems near and dear to himself.

History:

Alun was the sole son of Gwythyr, a large dark-coated stallion, and Ceri, a palomino mare. Gwythyr came from a line of traveling merchants, his family was noted for having extremely interesting goods whenever they returned to Skeldr Town from their travels across Onea. He traveled with his father more often than not, more often than not being on the road than at home with Gwythyr’s mother who ran a small inn. Ceri also came from merchants, although her family had settled in the town and had a little shop where they sold the wares they procured, having a wide variety of goods to offer in a family-run business. The two first met when Gwythyr and his father one day entered Ceri’s shop after a long trip to across the continent looking to sell some of their goods. Both felt an attraction to the other and soon began seeing each other.

As Gwythyr’s relationship with Ceri progressed, he stopped leaving as often to travel with his father and more often helping his mother and Ceri’s family. Eventually the pair got married with the blessing of the War Lord. As time went on Gwythyr and Ceri decided to get permission to start a family, this was a success and soon the couple were expecting their first child. Both the prospective parents and the prospective grandparents were extremely excited. Though Gwythyr had begun to stay in Skeldr Town to stay with and help Ceri and the other stationary members of his family, his father had continued to travel for merchant purposes even with his advancing age and had begun to run himself ragged attempting to keep up with what he had done in his youth being too stubborn to ask for help, Gwythyr had no idea of his father’s condition until his mother begged him to join his father on the older stallion’s travels once more to ensure his safety.

To ease his mother’s worried mind, Gwythyr left with his father once more, leaving a pregnant Ceri, which made the young stallion rather worried for his wife, but Ceri assured him she would be fine. Though the trip went fine for Gwythyr and his father, things back in Skeldr Town were not so fine. As Ceri grew closer to her due date, she suddenly grew ill. Worry grew between her parents and Gwythyr’s mother for both the foal and Ceri. Even though she seemed to be improving, Ceri was extremely weak when she went into labor. Though she was able to deliver her foal with much stress and strain, the mare unfortunately didn't make it to present Gwythyr the colt she bore him, a healthy pale palomino son she managed to name Alun before her passing. Not knowing about what had occurred until he returned, Gwythyr was absolutely heartbroken when he found out about the tragic fate that befell his beloved wife. Blaming himself because he left for such a long time, even if he was merely trying to help his father, Gwythyr felt worse and worse, deciding to leave Alun with the foal’s grandparents going back to his traveling ways with his father.

Alun was raised drifting back and forth between his father’s mother and his mother’s parents. Not often getting to see his father in his young life, Alun was always extremely excited to see Gwythyr and his grandfather when they returned from their travels, always returning with fantastical stories which Alun lived for. By the time Alun turned 15, his grandfather finally bit the bullet and with declining health he decided to retire to live with his grandmother, leaving Gwythyr to travel alone. Both pairs of grandparents were showing their age, leaving Gwythyr to offer his son a chance to come with him on his travels to learn the trade. The young palomino excitedly agreed to accompany his father. Being brought up around merchants, Alun proved a great help to his father. The palomino grew up on the road, watching his father and learning from him. As the young stallion grew up, growing more robust and able, watching grew into helping as he took to his father’s trade.

When Alun was 20, his father and himself left on a journey to sell their goods. Everything was going fine for the father-son duo until they were ambushed by robbers. Alun can't recall much of what occurred, it was all a blur for the stallion. All he knows is he was trying to help his father protect what they had and with a heavy blow to the back of the head, the palomino crumpled to the ground in unconsciousness. By the time he came to, his father was trying to struggle to his hooves, wounds covered his body, he had obviously put up a lot more of a fight than Alun had. Everything they had was gone. With Alun’s help Gwythyr was able to make it to a Medic, where he received the help he needed and recovered. With this incident, Gwythyr developed a taste for the more mundane, no longer did he long to travel. The stallion decided to stay in Skeldr Town and assist Alun’s aging grandparents in running the small inn, even adding a small shop as he took over.

With his father staying in Skeldr Town, Alun was urged strongly by his father to stay with him and play it safe. Ultimately deciding not to stay, Alun decided to continue his travels as a merchant, though he works hard to be available whenever his family needs him. He loves to see the world around him and offer his help where he can, maybe one day he'll settle down but he isn't quite sure about this yet.

Other Information/Quirks:

 - Honestly just doesn't care about a lot of things if they don't include him
 - Secretly aspires to be just like his father because he views the older stallion as strong and altogether the best thing since sliced bread
 - Really kinda lonely on his travels and just in general, he'd welcome a companion to join him in endeavors (give him pals plz)
 - More Later...
